My undergraduate degree is from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff AZ. I studied modern languages and competed as an NCAA Division I track and field athlete. I graduated from NAU with cum laude honors.
I attended Willamette University School of Law in Salem Oregon and studied one semester of law in Quito Ecuador, where the classes were taught in Spanish. I finished law school in August 1996, and passed Oregon State Bar Exam in 1997.
Having completed my studies, I went to Africa and backpacked from South Africa to Zanzibar. I ended up settling Chimanimani, Zimbabwe upon my marriage to a British National who was born in Kenya and raised in Zimbabwe. Together we ran a group of businesses in Zimbabwe, mainly in the tourism industry. However, in the spring of 2000, Zimbabwe began to experience severe political problems, land disputes and racial violence. By the end of 2004, fearing for our safety, we fled to South Africa where we took refuge for a year before eventually immigrating to the USA in early 2006.
I believe my life experiences as an immigrant, and small business owner allow me to connect with my clients and provide a genuine service. I look forward to meeting with each of you.
